Today was my second informal lunchtime schools work activity and once again I was given the chance to come up with a plan of what kind of activity we could do. I came up with the idea to do something a bit more in depth than last week and asked the pupils "Why did life begin?" to get them thinking not about how we came into being (creation, big bang, evolution, etc...) but about why life began. And so we set off from the office with the board and Sharpies and headed to the local high school. We set up outside the canteen where a vast amount of the pupils gather for feeding time. It was only a short matter of time until we were swarmed by pupils all wanting to get their thoughts, ideas and opinions from head to paper. We couldn't pass the Sharpies round quick enough but eventually everyone got their thoughts on the board and it was great to see them all engaged in the activity and really thinking about why life began. By the end we had an array of answers all the way from "God Spoke" & "Completely Random" to "God was lonely" & "#swag". After their lunch break had ended and the last of the crowd had finished writing their answers and talking with us we headed back to to the office.
